Seven Trojans Earn ACWPC All-Academic Honors

USC’s Di Martire, Grgurevic, Hubner and Saunders earn repeat honors.
USC men's water polo has landed seven Trojans on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches' 2023 All-Academic honor roll, led by four repeat honorees in Massimo Di Martire, Andrej Grgurevic, Eric Hubner and Charlie Saunders. Joined by first-time honorees Spencer Averitt, Connor Cohen and Bernardo Herzer, these Trojans boast cumulative GPAs of 3.2 or higher.
Selected from a group of remarkable candidates across various disciplines, the Academic All-Americans represent the epitome of dedication, perseverance, and scholarly prowess. These individuals have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to maintaining high academic standards while excelling in their respective sports, showcasing the perfect blend of intellect and athleticism. The awards for the 2023 season recognize 594 total students from 51 colleges and universities. These students maintained at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
The Academic All Americans recognition underscores the ACWPC's commitment to nurturing well-rounded student-athletes who excel not only in their chosen sports but also in the classroom. By honoring these individuals, the ACWPC aims to celebrate their remarkable accomplishments and inspire future generations to pursue excellence both on and off the field.
About the Association of College Water Polo Coaches:
The mission of the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches is to promote the development and advancement of collegiate water polo. This shall be accomplished by providing its membership with professional education, services, training and a united voice. Since 2005, it has been the goal of the ACWPC to bring a unified voice, abundant resources and recognition to collegiate programs across the USA. It is our hope that the ACWPC grows to include all collegiate coaches in all levels, serving to unite the collegiate water polo world to further protect and advance the sport at a time when budget cuts and sport elimination is commonplace.
