Teixeira-Dasilva Earns Big Ten Sportsmanship Award

Grad transfer one of USC's top two finishers in each of her competitions
USC's Helena Teixeira-Dasilva was named a 2024 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Honoree by the Conference on Nov. 7.
The Big Ten recognizes Sportsmanship Award honorees from each institution who have set themselves apart through hard work, sportsmanship and honorable behavior. These student-athletes must also be in good academic standing and demonstrate good citizenship outside of the sports setting.
The graduate transfer Teixeira-Dasilva led the Trojans at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships with a 6K season-best time of 22:32.4. Teixeira-Dasilva led USC in two of the three races she competed in this season, being the Trojans' second finisher in the other race.
The native of Auburndale, Mass. and her teammates will next be in action at the NCAA West Regional to be held in Colfax, Wash. on Nov. 15.
