USC Ready For First Big Ten Cross Country Championships

Seven Trojans set to compete in meet hosted by Illinois
The USC women's cross country team will compete in its first Big Ten Cross Country Championships at the Illinois Orange and Blue Golf Course in Savoy, Ill. on Friday, Nov. 1 at 10:35 a.m. CT. .Fans can watch the race live on the Big Ten Network, as well as the men's competition which is set to begin at 11:35 a.m. CT.
The competition will be fierce as the race will feature six of the top 26 teams in the country, including two of the top three in the Midwest Region, two of the top four in the West Region and three of the top five teams in the Great Lakes Region. The women's 6K race, featuring all 18 teams in the conference, will be run on the Blue Course. Wisconsin, Michigan and Michigan State have combined to win 20 of the last 23 Big Ten women's cross country team titles.
The athletes traveling to Illinois to represent USC in its first Big Team Cross Country Championship are graduate student Leah Disher, redshirt junior Jacqueline Duarte, senior Giovanna Pisano, junior Lucia Rabolli, graduate transfer Olivia Schmitt, sophomore Haley Spoden and graduate transfer Helena Teixeira-Dasilva.
The Trojan team left for Illinois today (Oct. 30), will get familiar with the course tomorrow and be ready for the competition on Friday. The team will return to Los Angeles later that evening.
USC's next competition is scheduled to be the NCAA West Regional to be held at the Colfax Golf Course in Colfax, Wash. on Nov. 15.
