USC's Amari Avery Claims Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Week Award

The junior beat out 108 other competitors for the individual title at the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay with a score of nine-under-par
SAN FRANCISCO – USC women's golf junior Amari Amari (Riverside, N.J.) was named Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 18-24; the league announced on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
Avery continued to make history, winning her fifth career individual title and coming home with a first-place finish after recording a 68-72-67 (-9) tournament at the Leadership and Golf Invitational on Sept. 19 at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash. The junior helped lead the Women of Troy towards the team title (-27 overall) in their season opener, as the squad bested the second-place team by a combined 31 strokes.
Avery's two rounds in the 60s broke the USC program record for the most rounds in the 60s for a career, as she now has 23 overall. The No. 1 utilized this on her way to her fifth overall title, which is tied for the second most in program history. This is Avery's second Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Week honor (Feb. 2022).
