USC Baseball's Blake Sodersten Named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week

LOS ANGELES – USC baseball pitcher Blake Sodersten was named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after putting up career numbers to lead the Trojans to a Friday night win, and eventual series victory, over No. 17 Oregon this past weekend.
Starting on short rest after pitching Sunday, Sodersten struck out a career-high 11 batters in 7.0 innings, while giving up just one run on six hits and one walk to power USC to a 7-2 victory over the Ducks in front of a sold out crowd. USC would go on to win Sunday as well, taking their sixth straight series at home and third series from a ranked opponent.
On the season, Sodersten leads the Trojans and is 11th in the Pac-12 with 63 strikeouts. His 10.37 strikeouts per nine innings are seventh in the conference and his 3.13 ERA is fourth among qualifying pitchers.
The Trojans have four more home games left on the slate, hosting CSU Bakersfield on Tuesday night and then old rivals Arizona State for three games starting on Friday.
