Six Trojans Earn All-Pac-12 Recognition

LOS ANGELES – The Pac-12 released it's All-Conference teams this week and six Trojans earned recognition on the postseason awards. Caden Aoki and Austin Overn earned All-Pac-12 recognition, while Garrett Clarke, Johnny Olmstead, Blake Sodersten and Kyle Wisch earned honorable mention. Overn was also named to the All-Defensive team.
It is the most Trojans honored on the All-Pac-12 awards since 2016.
Caden Aoki (RHP) – All-Pac-12
Aoki took over as USC's Saturday starter the second week of conference play and proceeded to lead the way for the Trojan starters, posting a 2.78 ERA in 58.1 innings pitched. His 2.78 ERA is tops in the Pac-12 and 35th in the NCAA. He has given up more than one run just twice and has thrown five or more shutout innings in a start three times. Aoki has struck out 48 batters to just 17 walks. In his 10 starts, Aoki owns a 4-2 record.
Austin Overn (Outfield) – All-Pac-12, Pac-12 All-Defensive Team
Overn currently leads the nation with 13 triples, which set a new USC single season record, breaking the mark set by Grant Green in 2007 (10). In addition to his record-setting triples output, Overn is 2nd on the team with a .311 batting average, and his 71 hits lead the squad. He has a team high 20 multi-hit games on the season and has scored a team best 52 runs. Overn also owns a .975 fielding percentage while starting every game in centerfield for USC.
Garrett Clarke (RHP) – All-Pac-12 honorable mention
Clarke was one half of USC's stellar closing duo this season, posting a 1.64 ERA in 25 appearances and 33.0 innings. He is third in the Pac-12 and 36th in the nation with eight saves on the year. Opponents are hitting just .197 against him, and he has struck out 31 batters while walking 12. Clarke was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List this season as well.
Johnny Olmstead (3B) – All-Pac-12 honorable mention
Olmstead has started every game at third base for USC this season, posting a .290 batting average. Olmstead is tied for the team lead with 11 homers and his 46 RBI are second on the team. Olmstead's .556 slugging percentage is second on the team and his 10 stolen bases are second as well. He also has 4 triples on the season, the 4th most in the Pac-12.
Blake Sodersten (RHP) – All-Pac-12 honorable mention
Sodersten has seen time in both the pen and as a starter this season, but made his biggest impact in a starting role down the stretch for USC. He owns the fifth best ERA in the conference at 3.82, making nine starts and nine relief appearances. He has a team-high 69 strikeouts to just 28 walks in 66.0 innings pitched. Sodersten has posted double-digit strikeout totals twice this season, including a career-high 11 K's against Oregon.
Kyle Wisch (RHP) – All-Pac-12 honorable mention
Wisch makes his second straight appearance on the All-Pac-12 honorable mention list after also earning the honor in 2022. Wisch is second on the team and sixth in the Pac-12 with six saves on the year. He has a 1.87 ERA, with opponents hitting .158 against him. Wisch has struck out 39 batters and walked 15, while making 30 appearances on the mound, good for fourth most in the Pac-12 and 16th most in the NCAA. Along with Clarke, he was named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year watch list.
It is the most Trojans honored on the All-Pac-12 awards since 2016.
