The Women of Troy play three midweek duals to close the books on the regular season
LOS ANGELES – The No. 2-ranked USC beach volleyball team (24-2) wraps the regular season this week with three duals in Los Angeles. The Women of Troy will celebrate graduates Jenna Johnson, Ashlyn Rasnick-Pope, and Madison Shields, and seniors Harper Hallgren and Caitlin Cummings on Tuesday (April 18) when they host CSU Bakersfield for a noon PT tilt at Merle Norman Stadium. On Thursday (April 20), USC heads across town to take on rival No. 3 UCLA (30-2) at noon and then faces No. 6 Loyola Marymount (23-6) in the regular-season finale at 2 p.m. Both matches in Westwood will be shown live on the Pac-12 Networks. USC recently crossed the 300-win plateau as a team, but third-year head coach Dain Blanton is officially on watch as he needs just three wins for his 100th-career victory.

The school record is 62 consecutive wins, which also spanned two seasons from March 11, 2016, to April 27, 2017. USC's 14-dual win streak this season was the ninth all-time double-digit win streak.

POLL POSITION: USC opened the 2023 season ranked fourth in the AVCA Coaches Top 20 preseason poll. The Women of Troy have been ranked in every AVCA poll for a total of 96 weeks. USC has also been ranked in the top five of the poll 95 times. The Trojans held that top-five distinction for 63 consecutive weeks from its inception until March 2, 2020. USC first seized the No. 1 ranking in both the AVCA and Volleyball Magazine polls on March 23, 2015, following a victory over then No. 1-ranked Hawai'i on the road and held the ranking for the rest of 2015. USC has been ranked No. 1 in 41 AVCA polls, the most all-time. The Trojans, Pepperdine, Hawai'i, UCLA, LSU, Florida State, and TCU are the only seven teams ever to hold the top spot in the poll.
