No. 20 USC Men’s Swimming and Diving Comes Up Short at No. 12 Stanford

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - No. 20 USC men's swimming and diving came up short during the Trojans 169-108 loss to No. 12 Stanford on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Avery Aquatic Center.
With the loss, the Trojans drop to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in Pac-12 action.
USC recorded a 1-2 finish in the 200y butterfly behind strong performances by seniors Jackson Odgers (1:47.55) and Harry Homans (1:48.00).
Trojan Chris O'Grady was second in both the 100y (54.00) and 200y breaststroke (1:57.53 ), leading Troy in both events.
Sophomore sprint freestyle specialist Artem Selin won the 50y freestyle in 19.89, the only sub-20 second time in the event.
USC's diving contingent had another impressive showing, winning on 3-meter and finishing 2-3-4 on 1-meter. Senior George Korovin captured 3-meter with 368.03 points while freshman Laurent Gosselin-Paradis was second with 360.25. On 1-meter, Gosselin-Paradis led the Trojans with 348.08 to finish second. Korovin was third with 342.90 while Shangfei Wang was fourth with 307.43.
USC returns home for one last dual of the season at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center on Friday, Feb. 10 against Utah. The dual will begin at 1 p.m. with senior day festivities happening at 1:45 p.m.
