CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 20 USC women's soccer team put up a season-high five goals on Thursday night, beating Oregon State 5-1 in a Pac-12 clash in Corvallis.

Five different USC players scored and Croix Bethune had a hand in three of the five goals on the day, combining with Simone Jackson for two of them. USC improves to 6-1-1 on the year and 2-0 in Pac-12 play, while Oregon State falls to 4-4-2 overall and 0-2 in conference action. The Trojans are now unbeaten in their last seven matches.

USC's opening goal in the 21st minute was a work of art. The Trojans had been holding possession and patiently probing the Oregon State defense until they strung a quick succession of passes together, culminating in a give-and-go with Bethune and Helena Sampaio to get Bethune into the area, where she slid a back-heel pass to Simi Awujo and Awujo shot it home through a defender's legs.

The second goal of the day saw Bethune get on the end of a cross from Jackson to make it 2-0 going into the break. The Beavers cut the lead in half with a header in the 52nd minute, but Bethune found Jackson in the 63rd minute to again give USC a two-goal cushion.

Kayla Colbert and Hannah White each scored late as the Trojans' attack was relentless all night. Less than 20 minutes into her season debut, Colbert found the back of the net in the 83rd minute and then six minutes later, set up White for the final goal of the match. It was the first goal of Colbert's career and the first of the season for White.

USC outshot the Beavers 26-7 in the game and put 14 total shots on target. Anna Smith had to make just two saves in goal for the Trojans.

GOALS
21' – USC: Simi Awujo (assisted by Croix Bethune, Helena Sampaio) – Sampaio and Bethune played a give-and-go and Bethune sent a back-heel pass to Awujo, who shot it through a defender's legs and just inside the far left post.

42' – USC: Croix Bethune (assisted by Simone Jackson) – Jackson made a run up the left side and sent a cross deep into the box where Bethune was there to poke it home.

52' – OSU: Amber Jackson (assisted by Jazy Campbell) – Campbell sent a free kick into the box and Jackson sent a glancing header across the face of the goal and into the far right side netting.

83' – USC: Kayla Colbert (assisted by Izzy Kimberly) – Kimberly found Colbert streaking up the right side and Colbert carried the ball into the area where she fired home a shot just as she approached the six-yard box.

89' – USC: Hannah White (assisted by Kayla Colbert, Brooklyn Courtnall) – On a similar run to her earlier goal, Colbert got the ball from Courtnall and this time sent a pass toward the face of the goal where it ricocheted off the keeper and right to White for the tap in.
