USC's Johnny Brackins Jr. Earns Bronze In 4x100m Relay At 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships

Smith advances to women’s 100m hurdles final at U20s

Johnny Brackins Jr. earned a bronze medal with USA's 4x100m relay and Jalaysiya Smith advanced to the women's 100m hurdles final at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships held in Cali, Colombia. today (Aug. 5). Tomorrow is the final day of the competition.

Brackins Jr. anchored USA's 4x100m relay team to a season-best time of 39.57 to take third and earn the bronze medal in the event. Brackins Jr. ran the leadoff leg for Team USA in the prelims yesterday.
Smith had a time of 13.20 (+0.2) to win her women's 100m hurdles semifinal heat and advances to tomorrow's final with the fourth-fastest qualifying time. Smith won her qualifying heat in the women's 100m hurdles on Aug. 4 with a time of 13.42 (+0.3) which was fourth among the qualifiers to the semis.
