The All-American swimmer will join the Trojans coaching staff this upcoming 2022-23 season.
USC swimming head coach Lea Maurer has found her final piece of the puzzle in new assistant swimming coach Brooks Fail.
The All-American swimmer will round out Maurer's coaching staff that includes newly hired associate head coach Peter Richardson (previously Arizona associate head coach) and assistant coaches Kevin Rapien and Meghan Hawthorne.
"Brooks is one of the toughest athletes around and a tremendous team leader," said head coach Lea Maurer. "What impresses me most about Brooks is the great person that he is. I believe he will prove to be a great coach and we couldn't be more pleased to have him joining our staff."
At Arizona, Fail was an 11-time All-American, most recently finishing fifth in the 500y free (4:10.05), sixth in the 400y IM (3:38.55) and seventh in the 1650y free (14:35.33) at the 2022 NCAA Championships. The endurance specialist also captured a Pac-12 title in the mile (14:41.22) as a 2022 senior.
A powerhouse for the Wildcats, Fail holds the Arizona school record in the 1650y free (14:31.38) and 400y IM (3:38.55).
The CSCAA Scholar All-American earned a Bachelor's degree in Education with a minor in recreation and sports at Arizona.
