USC Advances Six Athletes To Finals At NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

3 Trojans advance to men’s 60m , 2 to women’s 60m hurdles and 1 to women's 400m finals
Trojans Davonte Burnett, Brendon Stewart and Kasaun James in the men's 60m, Jasmine Jones and Mecca McGlaston in the women's 60m hurdles and Jan'Taijah Ford in the women's 400m all advanced to finals tomorrow during the first day of the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. Today (March 11).
- Trojans Burnett, Stewart and James all advance to the men's 60m dash final tomorrow, qualifying fifth, sixth and seventh respectfully. Burnett ran a PR of 6.58 (.575) to move from tied for fifth to tied for fourth on USC's all-time list. Stewart also had a time of 6.58 (.578) to tie his career-best time and Kasaun James had a time of 6.59 to advance.
- Jones had a PR of 7.93 to qualify third to the women's 60m hurdles tomorrow. Jones moved from fifth to tied for third on USC's all-list with Anna Cockrell. McGlaston also had a slight PR of 7.98 to advance to the finals seventh. Her time bettered his sixth-place standing on USC's all-time list.
- Ford had a time of 52.05 in the women's 400m race to qualify fourth to the final tomorrow.
- Trey Knight advanced to the finals in the men's weight throw in eighth, but did not improve and finished 9th overall with a best mark of 71-2 (21.69m).
