USC's Croix Bethune Named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES – After leading the USC women's soccer team to a 2-1 comeback win over Oregon State in their Pac-12 opener on Friday afternoon, Croix Bethune was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week.
Bethune scored once and provided one assist in the game, helping USC overcome an early 1-0 deficit to take down the previously undefeated Beavers.
The junior midfielder scored the equalizer in the 23rd minute after intercepting an outlet attempt by the OSU defense and beating a defender for a highlight reel strike. Bethune then assisted on the game-winner in the 85th minute, providing another highlight reel play when she ran down a long ball and stole it from a defender in the box before finding Penelope Hocking for the goal.
Bethune currently leads the Trojans with six goals and 14 total points this season. Both totals are career highs for the USC midfielder and are currently tied for fourth in the Pac-12.
USC's win on Friday gave the team a 1-0 start to Pac-12 play and extended a six-game winning streak for the Trojans. USC is on the road for a pair of games this week, playing at No. 20 Arizona State on Thursday and then at Arizona on Sunday. Both games can be seen on the Pac-12 Network.
