Four Trojans Earn All-Pac-12 Honors

LOS ANGELES—Four Trojans from the USC women's tennis team have earned honors from the Pac-12 Conference. Junior Salma Ewing has been named to the All-Pac-12 First Team, and sophomore Eryn Cayetano earned All-Pac-12 Second Team honors. Additionally, junior Danielle Willson and freshman Naomi Cheong have received All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.
Currently ranked No. 42 in the nation, junior Salma Ewing holds a 15-5 record in singles and went 7-2 in conference matches. Ewing's season was highlighted by eight victories over nationally ranked opponents, predominately playing from the No. 1 position. Most recently, Ewing upset the No. 6 player in the nation, NC State's Anna Rogers, in USC's Round of 16 match in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
Ewing will compete in the NCAA Singles Individual Championship in Orlando, Fla. at the USTA National Campus beginning on May 23 in the pursuit of an individual national title.
Sophomore Eryn Cayetano earns her first Pac-12 Conference athletic honor by receiving placement on the Second Team. The No. 98 ranked Cayetano is 11-6 on the season and 6-2 in Pac-12 play. She has recorded wins over three nationally ranked opponents (as high as No. 12 in the nation) and has tallied one clinch this season for the Women of Troy.
Junior Danielle Willson also receives her first Pac-12 postseason honor. Willson is 13-0 on the season and has defeated two national ranked opponents.
Freshman Naomi Cheong, also earning her first Pac-12 postseason honor, boasts a 9-8 overall record and has clinched twice for the Trojans this season. Her most notable win of the year was defeating the No. 1 ranked player in the nation, Pepperdine's Ashley Lahey on Jan. 25. Including Lahey, Cheong has defeated three nationally ranked opponents.
