Trojans Fall in Series Finale at Cal

BERKELEY, Calif. – The USC baseball team dropped the series finale at Cal on Saturday afternoon, falling 5-1 to the Golden Bears.
The Trojans fall to 12-11 overall and 5-4 in Pac-12 play with the loss, while Cal moves to 16-10, 4-2.
Two big innings did the trick for the home team, with Cal getting an RBI single and sac fly in the first to take a 2-0 lead, and then a three-run homer from Quentin Selma in the third to break things open.
The Trojans couldn't find their offense for most of the day, but finally broke through with a run in the ninth. Ben Ramirez doubled in the inning and Nate Clow later brought him home with a sac fly.
Garrett Clarke took over on the mound to start the fourth for USC and tossed 4.0 scoreless relief innings, giving up two hits and no walks, while striking out one.
