LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team fell on the road at No. 8 UCLA, 10-1, on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference matchup between the teams.
The Trojans drop to 3-6 with the loss, while UCLA moves to 8-3.
Pat Caulfield drove in two runs for the Bruins in the third inning and then UCLA tacked on three more unearned runs in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. UCLA would add five runs in the bottom of the eighth to cap the scoring for the home team. Four of the five runs in the ninth were unearned.
The Trojans got a one-out single from Ben Ramirez and then an RBI knock from Nate Clow in the ninth, but that was it for the Trojan offense on the day. USC finished with three hits.
UP NEXT
The Trojans play a midweek road game at Pepperdine on Tuesday and then host Nevada for a three-game set starting on Friday.
