Tailgating With Casa

On Saturday, Oct. 30, Trojan Outreach sponsored an advocate appreciation tailgate for the CASA nonprofit organization Orange County chapter.

CASA — Court Appointed Child Advocates — provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse, neglect and abandonment in the foster care system. Founded in 1985, the organization now serves approximately 800 children who have moved through the court system. The tailgate helped bring awareness to the cause.
"Today was an extension of [our mission]." said Tisa Strength, CASA's culture and community relations coordinator.

The nonprofit received an all-inclusive tailgating experience with catered lunch, exclusive space for the advocates — many USC alumni — and free tickets to the Trojans' Homecoming victory against Arizona for about 175 attendees.Â

The tailgating experience impacted those who impact the youth.
"It was great to raise awareness of our cause," Strength said. "And to show our advocates we support them."
