USC's Jay Tufele, Alijah Vera-Tucker Named to Outland Trophy Watch List

LOS ANGELES — Defensive lineman Jay Tufele and offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker have been named to the 2020 Watch List for the Outland Trophy, presented to the nation's top interior lineman by the Football Writers Association.
Ron Yary in 1967 is USC's only previous winner of the Outland Trophy.
Tufele, a junior, is also on the 2020 Watch Lists for the Bednarik Award and Nagurski Award, both given to the nation's top defensive player. He was an All-Pac-12 first teamer in 2019 when he had 41 tackles, including 6.5 for losses, after earning Freshman All-American first team notice in 2018.
Vera-Tucker, a junior, made the All-Pac-12 second team in 2019 when he was named USC's Offensive Lineman of the Year while starting at left guard.
