Trojans Pick up 5-1 Exhibition Win over Bakersfield in Spring Play

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The USC women's soccer team continued its spring schedule with a 5-1 exhibition win at CSU Bakersfield on Saturday afternoon.

USC scored twice in the first half and then got three goals from Penelope Hocking in the second half to beat the Roadrunners.

The Trojans got on the board early in the opening period when Tara McKeown drew a penalty in the area and Lily Babalola finished the PK to make it a 1-0 game. Olufolasade Adamolekun picked up the second goal before the half when Hocking drew the defender out wide and Jaelyn Eisenhart sent a cross in to Adamolekun for the score.

Hocking scored her first goal early in the second half, scoring on a deflection after a shot by Adamolekun. Bakersfield scored their lone goal in the 60th minute, before Hocking picked up two goals in the final seven minutes. McKeown assisted Hocking in the 83rd minute, driving up the left side and sending a pass in to the box for Hocking. Adamolekun then sent a pass to Hocking who dribbled up the middle and scored in the 86th minute.

The Trojans continue their spring schedule on March 29 against the Utah Royals at OC Great Park in Irvine, Calif.
