USC Football Schedules San Jose State in 2021 to Replace UC Davis

The game will be played at United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sept. 4.
The Trojans' contest with UC Davis was announced last summer and the Aggies would have been USC's first-ever FCS opponent.
USC had negotiated with a number of FBS schools to play on that open 2021 date but could not reach an agreement at the time. USC is one of just 3 schools, along with UCLA and Notre Dame, to never have played an FCS foe.
"We recognize the long-standing tradition that USC has only played FBS schools and we heard passionately from our fans about how important that is to them," said USC athletic director Mike Bohn. "So when this opportunity to schedule San Jose State arose, we listened and made it happen."
The Trojans also have San Jose State on their 2024 slate. That game will be played on Sept. 7 in the Coliseum.
USC is 4-0 in its series with San Jose State of the Mountain West, last battling the Spartans in 2009. All 4 games were held in the Coliseum.
