Angela Kulikov Wins Pac-12 Player of the Week

For the first time this season, USC senior Angela Kulikov has won Pac-12 Player of the Week honors. This is Kulikov's third time earning this award in her career, and this marks the 41st all-time weekly award presented to the Women of Troy.
Kulikov had an impressive performance throughout USC's matches at ITA Kickoff Weekend. The No. 60 ranked Kulikov played from the No. 1 position in both singles and doubles in both matches this weekend. She did not lose a set in her singles matches.
She defeated an opponent ranked higher than her when she beat Princeton's No. 24 Brianna Shvets 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles, Kulikov and her partner freshman Eryn Cayetano defeated Princeton's No. 19 Joyce/Frayman, and were on track to beat Kentucky's No. 21 Jacobs/Parazinskaite as they held a 5-3 lead, but the doubles point was clinched before they had the opportunity to finish their match.
Kulikov, a two-time captain of the USC women's tennis team, is also currently ranked No. 29 in doubles with partner Danielle Willson.
Kulikov and the Women of Troy return to Marks Stadium for their home opener this weekend as they will take on Saint Mary's on Friday (Jan. 31) at 3 p.m. PT and then fear up for a double header on Saturday (Feb. 1) as they challenge UC Santa Barbara at 12 p.m. PT and Long Beach State at 3 p.m. PT.
