Benjamin, Brown & De Grasse Advance On Day 1 Of 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships

Rai Benjamin in the 400m hurdles and Aaron Brown and Andre De Grasse in the 100m all advanced to event semifinals at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar today (Sept. 27). They were the first of 12 Trojans to see action at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships.

Brown and De Grasse, representing Canada, both took second in their 100m heats to automatically advance to the semifinal in the event tomorrow. Brown had a time of 10.16 (-0.3) to advance 14th overall and De Grasse a time of 10.13 (-0.8) to advance 10th overall to the semifinal.

Benjamin won his 400m hurdles heat with a time of 49.62 to automatically advance to tomorrow's semifinal. His time was 10^th among the qualifiers.
