World Cup Schedule Women of Troy Take Team Trip to World Cup

LOS ANGELES – With the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup starting this weekend, USC women's soccer fans will have a new face to keep an eye on, with incoming freshman Sade Adamolekun competing for Jamaica.

Adamolekun hails from Fleming Island, Fla., but has Jamaican roots and has already competed for the Jamaican U-17 team. She is part of the Trojans' 2019 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 3 in the country. The full class will be released soon.

Adamolekun is a 5-9 forward who played club soccer for United Soccer Alliance. In addition to competing for the Jamaican U-17 team, she played with the United States' U-15 squad, before committing to play for Jamaica going forward.

Jamaica opens its 2019 world cup run against Brazil on Sunday, June 9 at 6:30 a.m. PT, then take on Italy on June 14 (9 a.m. PT) and round out group play on June 18 (12 p.m. PT). Jamaica's games can be seen on FS1, Fox and FS2 respectively.
