Cockrell, Myrtue & Terry Named To Google Cloud Academic All-America Teams

Juniors Anna Cockrell and Matthew Myrtue and sophomore Twanisha "TeeTee" Terry were named to 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-American teams for Track/Cross Country Teams it was announced today (June 27). The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Track/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.
Cockrell, from Charlotte, N.C., was named to the women's second team for the second consecutive season. She graduated in three years with a 3.98 grade-point average (GPA) in Communication with a minor in Political Science. Cockrell won the 2019 NCAA 400m hurdles title with a time of 55.23 and placed fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.80 (+0.6). She also ran on USC's 4x400m relay which scored at the NCAA Championships and she scored a total of 14.25 points individually, the fifth-most among all athletes at the competition. This season Cockrell also won her second consecutive Pac-12 400m hurdles title and placed second in the 100m hurdles. Cockrell now ranks third on USC's all-time 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles lists as she had a PR of 12.69 (+2.0) in the NCAA 100m hurdles semifinal. Her freshman record of 55.14 still holds third place on USC's all-time list.
Myrtue, from Covington, L.A., has a 4.0 GPA in Computer Sciences/Business Administration at USC and was named to the men's second team. He has a personal-best of 1:51.87 in the 800m race and ran a season-best 1:52.12 to finish 12th at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships. He placed third in the 800m race with a time of 1:52.75 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28. He also set his 1500m PR of 3:53.80 in placing fifth at the Trojan Invitational on March 16.
Terry, from Miami, Fla., has a 3.81 GPA in Communication and was named to the women's third team. Terry broke her school record and finished third in the 100m dash at the NCAA Championships with a time of 10.98 (+1.6). She also finished 16th in the 200m dash at the NCAA Championships and anchored USC's 4x100m relay team to a title with a school-record time of 42.21. Terry won her second consecutive Pac-12 100m title with a time of 11.09 (+0.5) , placed third in the 200m with a time of 23.28 (+0.1) and anchored the winning 4x100m relay which had a time of 42.45 at the Conference meet on May 12.
