USC Heads To NCAA T&F Championships In Austin, Texas

Women enter ranked No. 2 & men No. 9
The No. 2-ranked USC women's team and the No. 9-ranked men's team will be at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in Austin, Texas from June 5-8. The top 24 athletes, 12 in each event from both the East & West Preliminary Rounds, have advanced to the championships. At least one Trojan man or woman has won an individual NCAA outdoor title in 21 of the last 27 championships.
USC BRINGS 18 ATHLETES TO THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS - USC has 8 men and 10 women entered in individual events or relays at the NCAA T&F Championships: Men: Allen Jr. (200m), Bultman (HT), Jewett (800m), Katnik (SP), Morris (110m H), Owens (decathlon), Samuel (400m H), Sears (HJ). Women: Annelus (100m, 200m), Brissett (100m H), Cockrell (100m H, 400m H), Constantine (400m), Jones (LJ), Lear (4x400m), McGlaston (4x100m-alt., 4x400m-alt.), Roberts (4x400m-alt.), Terry (100m, 200m), Thomas (100m, 200m). The USC women's 4x100m and 4x400m relays are also entered. The men's team has eight opportunities to score and the women's team has 13 scoring chances at the NCAA Championships.
WHERE TO WATCH THE MEET - The entire 2019 NCAA Track & Field Championships will be televised on one of the ESPN network platforms. The coverage on June 5 will begin at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN3 and at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN2; on June 6 beginning at 11:00 a.m. on ESPN3 and at 5:00 p.m. on ESPNU and at 6 p.m. on ESPN2; on June 7 beginning at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN3 and at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN; and on June 8 beginning at 11:30 a.m. on ESPN3 and 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2. All times are PT. For the fifth year in a row, the men's and women's meets will be contested on alternate days with the men's semifinals on June 5, the women's semifinals on June 6, the men's finals on June 7 and the women's finals on June 8. USC won a record 9-straight titles from 1935-43. USC also has the most individual men's titles with 120. The USC women's team won the 2018 team title, the second in program history (2001).  USC's men have placed in the top 10 in 17 of the last 24 seasons. USC's women have finished in the top 10 in 15 of the last 24 seasons. USC's women have scored 173 points in the first five seasons with Caryl Smith Gilbert as the Director of Track & Field, its most points in a five-year stretch since scoring a total of 212 points from 2000-04.

USC's MAGICAL 2018 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS - The USC women's team won the 2018 NCAA title (2nd in school history) with an epic come-from-behind victory in the 4x400m relay by .07 seconds, the meet's final event. Angie Annelus won the 200m title and Anna Cockrell placed second in the 400m hurdles to key USC's comeback. Also scoring for USC were TeeTee Terry in the 100m, Deanna Hill in the100m and 200m, Kendall Ellis in the 400m and Madisen Richards in the LJ. The men's team placed fourth at the Championships, it highest since tying for fourth in 2014 and the last time USC finished higher was third place in 2003. Michael Norman in the 400m, Rai Benjamin in the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay all set collegiate records. Also scoring for USC were Robert Ford in the 800m (7th) and Earnest Sears III in the HJ (7th).
FOUR TROJANS EARN PAC-12 HONORS -Â USC picked up four of the eight 2019 Pac-12 season honors on May 15: Angie Annelus (Women's Track Athlete of the Year), Ayden Owens (Men's Freshman of the Year), Lanae-Tava Thomas (Women's Freshman of the Year) and Caryl Smith Gilbert (Women's Head Coach of the Year).
WOMEN'S 4x100M RELAY SETS SCHOOL RECORD - The USC women's 4x100m relay team of Mecca McGlaston, Angie Annelus, Lanae-Tava Thomas and TeeTee Terry set the USC school record with a time of 42.44 in the Pac-12 prelims on May 11. Channel Brissett took over for McGlaston in the final on May 12 and the team won the conference title with the second-fastest time in school history of 42.45. Those are the two fastest times in the world this season.
WOMEN'S 4x400M RELAY SETS MEET RECORD - USC's women's 4x400m relay team of Bailey Lear, Anna Cockrell, Kyra Constantine & Kaelin Roberts won the Pac-12 title with a meet-record time of 3:29.23 which ranks 9th on USC's all-time list and fifth among NCAA teams.
RELAY ROULETTE - USC's 4x100m relay currently ranks first in the world with a school record of 42.44 set in the Pac-12 prelims on May 11. USC also ran 42.45 to caputure the Pac-12 title, 42.77 to win at the Mt. SAC Relays in April & 42.84 at the West Prelims, the top four times by an NCAA quartet this season. The common denominator on the relay has been Angie Annelus, Lanae-Tava Thomas and TeeTee Terry running legs 2-4 respectively. Running the lead-off legs were Mecca McGlaston (42.44), Chanel Brissett (42.45 & 42.84) and Dior Hall (42.77).
