Three Trojans to Compete in NCAA Singles and Doubles Tournaments

THIS WEEK
Three Trojans will be participating in the NCAA Singles and Doubles Tournaments. Freshman Salma Ewing will compete in the Singles Tournament, while the No. 1 ranked pair of Angela Kulikov/Rianna Valdes will play in the Doubles Tournament.
This is the first NCAA Individual Tournament appearance for each of these Trojans.
SINGLES
No. 51 ranked Salma Ewing begins her pursuit of a national title on Monday (May 20). She will challenge Georgia's No. 19 ranked Marta Gonzalez in the Round of 64.
Ewing is currently 19-12 on the season and played from the No. 1 position all year for the Women of Troy. Throughout the year, she defeated seven nationally ranked singles players.
DOUBLES
The No.1 ranked duo of junior Angela Kulikov and senior Rianna Valdes will make their NCAA doubles debut as the No. 1 seed in the tournament. They will take on Duke's No. 18 ranked Ellyse Hamlin/Kaitlyn McCarthy in the Round of 32 on Tuesday (May 21).
Kulikov/Valdes are 26-6 on the season and have played from the No. 1 doubles position throughout the year. They have defeated 13 nationally ranked teams throughout the year, including five in the Top 20 .
