Three Trojans Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

Three USC women's tennis players have earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors. Angela Kulikov and Becca Weissmann were selected to the All-Academic First Team, and Rianna Valdes earned All-Academic Second Team honors.
Kulikov makes her second appearance on the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. The junior boasts a 3.76 cumulative GPA while majoring in cognitive science and minoring in sports media industries. Kulikov is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation in doubles with her partner Rianna Valdes. In singles, she has predominately played in the No. 2 spot for the Women of Troy and finished the season with an 18-9 overall record.
In order to earn placement on the All-Academic team, the student-athlete must be in her second year at the same institution. After transferring last year from LSU, junior Becca Weissmann makes her first appearance on the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. Weissmann has a 3.78 cumulative GPA while majoring in health and human sciences and minoring in sports media industries. On the court, Weissmann went 12-11 in singles for USC during the 2018-19 season.
This is the third Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team honor for senior Rianna Valdes after earning this recognition in 2017 and 2018. Valdes, who recently earned her degree, recorded a 3.61 GPA while studying psychology. On the court, Valdes went 9-11 in singles while mostly playing from the No. 4 position. She is a member of the No. 1 ranked doubles pair in the nation with partner Kulikov, and the duo have a 26-6 record on the season. This Trojan tandem will travel to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the NCAA Doubles Tournament where they are the No. 1 seed.
