USC Unanimous No. 1 In Final WGCA Coaches Poll

NCAA Washington Regional next for six-time winner Trojans.
The USC women's golf team, a six-time winner and the top seed in the upcoming NCAA Washington Regional, remained the top-ranked team in the final Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) spring poll, receiving all 22 first-place votes it was announced Friday (April 26).
The Trojans, coming off the Pac-12 title on April 17, will attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships final at the NCAA Regional at Tumble Creek G.C. in Cle Elum, Wash., hosted by the University of Washington, May 6-8.
USC, under first-year head coach Justin Silverstein, has six players ranked inside the Golfweek top 60, led by No. 11 Jennifer Chang and No. 13 Malia Nam. Gabriela Ruffels is No. 24, Allisen Corpuz is No. 48, Alyaa Abdulghany is No. 51 and Amelia Garvey is No. 56.
Troy's six wins this year are its most since winning six in 2016. The last time USC won more than six was in 2014 when it captured a school-record nine events following a seven-win season in 2013.
The Trojans have won 41 tournaments since the start of the 2012-13 season. Silverstein has been either an assistant coach, associate head coach or head coach for all but eight of those wins.
