Penelope Hocking Earns Academic All-District Honors

LOS ANGELES – The CoSIDA Academic All-District teams were announced today and USC's Penelope Hocking earned a spot on the District 8 second team.
The Trojans' standout sophomore forward earned her way onto the list with a 3.53 GPA as an accounting major.
In addition to her academic prowess, Hocking's athletic accolades are extensive, including being named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year last season. This year she has scored 11 goals and posted four assists to sit second on the team and fifth in the Pac-12 with 26 total points. Hocking is the first player in program history to start her collegiate career with back-to-back 10 goal seasons and she is already fifth on USC's career goals list with 25.
To be considered for the academic honor, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.30 GPA and have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's games this season.
