Angela Kulikov Wins Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week

USC women's tennis player Angela Kulikov has been recognized by the conference as the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her stellar performance in USC's upset over No. 13 South Carolina in Melbourne, Australia.

This is Kulikov's first career Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor and the 39^th all-time weekly honor for the Trojans.

The Women of Troy traveled to the Australian Open to kick off the 2019 season. This match was the inaugural collegiate contest to take place on location during one of the four professional Grand Slam events.

Kulikov began the match with a convincing 6-1 doubles win with partner Rianna Valdes over South Carolina's Chinellato/Davies. This victory improved the No. 42 ranked pair to 12-3 on the season.

In singles, Kulikov fell in her first set 0-6 to opponent, No. 69 Mia Horvit. However, she battled back to victory by winning the next two sets 6-4, 7-5 to clinch the match for the Women of Troy.

In addition, Trojan Brandon Holt won the Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week. This is the first time since 2015 that USC has swept the weekly awards when Meredith Xepoleas and Eric Johnson each won the honor in the same week.
