LOS ANGELES – The No. 4 USC women's soccer team dominated possession and notched its fifth shutout of the year on Friday in a 2-0 win over Missouri at home.
The Trojans move to 5-0-1 with the win, while the Tigers drop to 1-4-1 with the loss. USC has not allowed a goal in 431 minutes spanning five games. Savannah DeMelo notched a goal and assist in the game and Jalen Woodward scored her first career goal for the Trojans.
USC had plenty of chances early, but missed on several good looks in the box, including one that was saved off the line by a Missouri defender in the fourth minute. DeMelo would break through in the 27th minute thanks to a beautiful feed from Tara Mckeown for her fourth goal of the year. Woodward added USC's second goal in the 64th minute on a pass off the short corner from DeMelo, sending in a ball from the top of the box.
Kaylie Collins had to make just one save in the game as USC outshot the Tigers 31-4. Kelsey Dossey had 12 saves for Missouri.
