No. 12 USC Shuts Out UC Irvine in Season Opener, 1-0

IRVINE, Calif. – The No. 12 USC women's soccer team shut out UC Irvine to start off the 2018 season, getting the lone goal late in the first half from Natalie Jacobs.
The Trojans got three big saves from Kaylie Collins in goal and were able to hold the Anteaters at bay late to pick up the season opening victory. Collins came up with one big save early in the first half on a shot from deep in the box, and would make key defensive plays on dangerous balls played into the box in both halves. Jacobs came up with the score for USC after several counterattacks came up just short.

41' – USC: Natalie Jacobs (assisted by Leah Pruitt) – Pruitt got a throw-in down near the endline and sent a cross in from the right, Jacobs headed it in from the back post.
