Norman Named Indoor Scholar Athlete of the Year, Women's Team Outdoor Scholar Team Of Year

USTFCCCA names 9 individual Trojans & women's team as All-Academic
The USC women's team was named the Women's Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year and Michael Norman was named the Men's Indoor Track Scholar Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) today (July 26). In addition, Norman, Nick Ponzio, Chanel Brissett, Anna Cockrell, Courtney Corrin, Deanna Hill, Margaux Jones, Madisen Richards and TeeTee Terry were named USTFCCCA All-Academic.
The USC women's team posted a composite 3.13 grade-point average (GPA) as a team and was named the 2018 Women's Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year. USC's women's team won the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, the 2018 Pac-12 title and placed seventh at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Norman, who set world indoor records in the men's 400m and as part of the winning 4x400m relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships, was named the Men's Indoor Scholar Athlete of the Year. Norman had a 3.36 GPA in Communications to be named All-Academic, while Ponzio had a 3.65 GPA in Psychology.
The USC women earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors with their GPA and major were Brissett (3.51, Communications), Cockrell (4.00, Communications), Corrin (3.50, Law, History & Culture), Hill (3.27, Human Biology), Jones (3.68, Art History), Richards (3.44, Human Biology) and Terry (3.88, Communications).
