Ford & Ellis Advance To Finals At USATF Outdoor Championships

McGlaston moves on to 100m hurdles semifinal
Robert Ford in the 800m and Kendall Ellis in the 400m advanced to event finals and Mecca McGlaston advanced to the 100m hurdles semifinal during the second day of action at the USATF Outdoor Championships held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Ia. today (June 22).
- Robert Ford had a time of 1:46.73 to take third in his 800m semifinal and automatically advance to the final on Sunday. There was just .21 seconds separating the second-fifth place finishers in the heat, with just the top four advancing. Ford ended up with the third-fastest qualifying time to the final.
- Kendall Ellis had a time of 50.80 to place second in her 400m semifinal to automatically advance to the event final tomorrow. Ellis ended up with the third-fastest time among the qualifiers.
- Mecca McGlaston had a time of 13.32 (+0.8) to finish fifth in the first heat of the women's 100m hurdles. Her time would hold up and grab her the 16th and final spot into the 100m hurdles semifinal tomorrow.
- Conor McCullough (USC, 2015) took fifth in the men's hammer throw competition with a best mark of 239-5 (72.98m). McCullough had a strong series and was one of two throwers in the final without a foul. Only 10 inches separated the second-fifth place finishers.
- Destinee Brown (USC, 2015-17) placed seventh in her 100m semifinal heat with a time of 11.32 (+1.5) and finished 14th overall.
