Brissett Takes Third In The 100m Hurdles At USATF Junior Championships

USC's freshman Chanel Brissett placed third in the 100m hurdles at the 2018 USATF Junior Chapmpionships held in Bloomington, Ind. today (June 16). The top two finishers in each event are eligible to compete for USA at the IAAF World U20 Championships to be held in Tampere, Finland, July 10-15.

Brissett had a time of 12.95 (-0.5) in the finals to place third, with just .06 seconds separating the top three finishers. The fourth-place finisher was .17 seconds behind Brissett.

Brissett advanced to the finals earlier in the day with the fastest qualifying time of 13.09 (+0.2).

Brissett had an outstanding freshman campaign which saw her win the Pac-12 100m hurdles title with a PR of 12.75 (+1.7), which was .01 second off the USC freshman record of 12.74 set by Dior Hall in 2015. Brissett ranks fourth on USC's all-time 100m hurdles list.
