The Women of Troy improved to 8-4 overall following a 3-2 win over the Seminoles
MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – The No. 2-ranked USC beach volleyball team (8-4) completed the 2018 East Meets West Challenge with a 3-2 victory over No. 5-ranked Florida State (9-3) at the Manhattan Beach Pier on Sunday, March 11.

The Trojans claimed the first point from the top court as junior Abril Bustamante and freshman Tina Graudina defeated Macy Jerger and Tory Paranagua in dominant fashion, 21-9, 21-8. The Seminoles fired back to even the dual with a win at court four when Katie Horton and Hailey Luke took down USC's duo of junior Katrina Kernochan and senior Alexandra Poletto, 21-10, 21-18.

The Women of Troy stepped in front again with a win at court two as senior Terese Cannon and freshman Sammy Slater claimed a 21-13, 21-15 win over Vanessa Freire and Sara Putt. FSU scored its second point from court three on a 21-19, 21-18 win by Francesca Goncalves and Brooke Kuhlman over the Trojans' pair of sophomore Joy Dennis and freshman Haley Hallgren.

With the dual on the line, USC seniors Jenna Belton and Jo Kremer delivered the knockout blow with a 21-17, 21-17 victory over Madison Fitzpatrick and Molly McBain at the fifth position.

Up next, USC heads to Hawai'i for five duals next weekend in the Outrigger Resorts Hawai'i Invitational on Queen's Beach in Honolulu.
