Alexa Corcoleotes Reaches Quarterfinals of Jack Kramer Invitational

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, CALIF. -- USC sophomore Alexa Corcoleotes had a strong weekend of competition as she reached the Quarterfinals of the 2018 Jack Kramer Invitational in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. Corcoleotes fell to UCLA's Ayan Broomfield 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinal match.
After having a bye in the first round, Corcoleotes reached the Quarterfinals by defeating UC Riverside's Mahli Silpachai 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the Round of 32 and UC Santa Barbara's Anastasia Goncharova 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 in the Round of 16.
Junior Sydney Van Alphen also competed in the tournament and defeated Arizona's Gitte Heynemans 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 in the Round of 32 after having a bye in the first round. She then fell to San Diego's Sophia Chow 7-5, 6-4 in the Round of 16.
Fellow junior Becca Weissmann competed in an ITF Pro Circuit 25K in Lawrence, Kan. where she reached the second round of the Qualifying Draw. Weissmann defeated Rosalyn Small 6-0, 6-0 in the first round, but fell to the No. 1 seed in the tournament, Jessica Ho, 6-2, 6-0 in the second round.
