Five Trojans Earn Spots on All-Region Teams

LOS ANGELES – The United Soccer Coaches released its All-Region teams this week and five Trojans earned Pacific Region honors.
Kaylie Collins, Ally Prisock, Savannah DeMelo and Leah Pruitt were all named to the first team, and freshman Penelope Hocking earned a spot on the second team. USC and Stanford were the only two schools to place four players on the Pacific Region first team.
Collins wrapped up a remarkable redshirt sophomore season with 10 solo-shutouts, tied for the fourth most in program history and the 11th most in the country this year. Collins was named the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year after leading the league in shutouts and posting the ninth best goals against average (0.506) in the NCAA. She now has 17 shutouts for her career, putting her fourth on the career list.
Prisock lead a Trojan backline that notched 15 shutouts this year, the second most in program history, and helped USC give up just 11 goals all season en route to the best goal differential (57-11) in program history. Prisock earned All Pac-12 first team recognition and is a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy after starting every game at center-back for the Trojans. The senior also scored a goal and had an assist on the season. She wrapped up an all-time great USC career this year, setting the program mark for career starts at 90 after starting every game of her four-year tenure.
DeMelo was the Trojans' catalyst out of the midfield this season, finishing with a team-high 10 assists, which were also good for 13th in the country. DeMelo scored nine goals as well, posting a total of 28 points on the season on her way to a second consecutive nod on the All Pac-12 first team. DeMelo was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list earlier this year and played on the U.S. U-20 World Cup team just prior to the season.
Pruitt is another senior leader wrapping up an all-time great Trojan career. The veteran forward was second on the team in points, with 33 after scoring 12 goals and posting nine assists. Her 12 goals were tied for fourth in the Pac-12 and nine assists were good for sixth. She also led the league and was ninth in the nation with six game-winning goals this year. Pruitt was named to the All Pac-12 first team as well, her second all-conference honor. She wraps up her career tied for fifth on the all-time USC assists list with 21, tied for 10th with 22 goals scored and sixth on the game-winning goals list with 10.

She also notched six assists on the season and finished third in the Pac-12 with 34 total points.
