Kulikov/Valdes Fall in Quarterfinals of ITA All-American Championships

USC's No. 27 ranked doubles pair of Angela Kulikov and Rianna Valdes lost today in the Quarterfinals of the Main Draw of the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships held at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The duo made an impressive showing in the tournament as they defeated five nationally ranked teams on their road to the Quarterfinals.
The last time a Trojan pair reached the Quarterfinals was in 2016 when Zoë Katz and Gabby Smith fell to the No. 2 pair in the nation.
Kulikov/Valdes had two decisive wins in the Round of 32 and the Round of 16 as they defeated Michigan's No. 43 Minor/Pairone 8-1 and notched a massive win against North Carolina's No. 10 Sanford/Daavettila 8-1. In the Quarterfinal match, the Trojans fell 8-4 to Wichita State's No. 14 Bizhukova/Bellucco.
USC's next action will bring the team home to Marks Stadium where they will host the Women of Troy Fall Invitational. Oregon, Arizona, Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymount will participate in the tournament on USC's campus that will take place from Friday Oct. 12 through Sunday Oct. 14.
