Last week, USC women's basketball completed its SCORE (Serving Community through Outreach, Recreation, and Education) Initiative by volunteering to refurbish an apartment at the Jenesse Center -- the oldest domestic violence intervention program in South Los Angeles
The Jenesse Center provides apartments free of charge for victims of domestic violence and their children, and USC women's basketball followed in the footsteps of prominent women like Halle Berry and Viola Davis in helping to renovate those living quarters.
USC's student-athletes cleaned the apartment in addition to painting walls, assembling furniture and putting up decorations. They also put up a USC Women's Basketball plaque on the apartment's front door, commemorating their efforts to help victims of domestic violence.
