USC Adds Three More Talented Athletes To 2018 T&F Roster

USC continues increasing the talent level of the 2018 track and field roster with the additions of thrower Breana Jemison, decathlete Cameron Collins and hurdler/sprinter Cameron Samuel.
Jemison is a fifth-year senior with one indoor and outdoor season of eligibility. She transferred to USC from UC Riverside where she is the school record-holder in the shot put with a mark 56-11.50 (17.36m) which she set in winning the 2016 Big West title. She was named the Big West Track and Field Athlete of the Week three times in her career. Jemison is a 2012 graduate of Carlsbad High in Carlsbad, Calif. where she competed in track and basketball. Jemison was the 2011 California high school state champion in the shot put.
Collins is a fifth-year senior who transferred to USC from Virginia. He competed in the multi events for Virginia, placing sixth in 2016 and ninth in 2015 in the decathlon at the ACC Championships. He has a PR of 7,004 in the decathlon. During the 2017 indoor season, Collins posted PRs in the shot put of 45-8 (13.92m), the high jump of 6-4.25 (1.94m) and the 60m hurdles (9.29). He began his collegiate career at Hampden-Sydney (2013-14) where he played basketball and led the team with a free throw percentage of .833. He is a 2013 graduate of the Darlington School in Rome, Ga. where he competed in track, basketball and cross country. He was the 2012 state 800m champion with a time of 1:57.21. He was a seven-time region champion in track and two-time All-Region in cross county and basketball.
Samuel is a 2017 graduate of Rancho Verde HS in Moreno Valley, Calif. He placed second in both the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles at the 2017 CIF State Meet with PRs of 13.78 and 36.34 respectively. He also has a PR of 52.37 in the 400m hurdles. Samuel also anchored Rancho Verde's 4x400m relay team which won the 2017 state title with a time of 3:14.46.
Among the roster addition highlights announced this summer were Rai Benjamin (sprints/hurdles) and Angie Annelus (sprints) from UCLA and hurdler Jaydon Logan from Cerritos College, as well as high school thrower Natasha Stamp, and high jumpers Cassidy Palka and Earnest Sears. USC's early signings were hurdler Chanel Brissett, thrower Joy McArthur, sprinter Nick Moore, sprinter Kaelin Roberts, sprinter/hurdler Shante Robinson, sprinter Zach Shinnick and sprinter Twanisha Terry.
