Trojan Wish: Miles McIntosh
November 07, 2017 | Trojan Outreach, USC Ripsit Blog, Features
On Saturday, USC's Trojan Outreach program treated five-year-old Miles McIntosh and his family to a special evening.
At 18 months old, Miles was diagnosed with a rare genetic degenerative neuromuscular disease called spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The disease causes muscle weakness leading to the inability to perform basic functions such as sitting up, standing, walking, swallowing and even breathing.
Miles — now in kindergarten — and his family got an exclusive tour of USC's athletic facilities on Saturday before heading over to the Cardinal and Gold tailgate for a pregame meal. They then met the world famous USC Song Girls and watched USC take down No. 22 Arizona, 49-35, in front of a Homecoming crowd.
USC's final Trojan Wish of the season will take place on Nov. 18, when the Trojans host UCLA.
