The Trojans took the field one last time before heading to South Bend to take on Notre Dame.
- Injury update, per USC head coach Clay Helton: DL Rasheem Green, OT Toa Lobendahn and OT Chuma Edoga will all play in Notre Dame. RB Stephen Carr will not play this weekend, but Helton thinks he is on his way to recovery. "He looked OK this week, but at that position it's so hard to be able to put your foot in the ground and make the cuts you need," said Helton. "So it looks like he needs one more week."
 - Aside from being excited to play in Notre Dame, Helton is most looking forward to watching his team grow. "What I see is a bunch of young people getting better and even the older kids," said Helton. He mentioned being impressed with the development of DL Christian Rector, WR Trevon Sidney and TE Josh Falo. "As they develop, we're becoming a stronger football team," said Helton. Helton expects TE Daniel Imatorbhebhe to see more reps this game and is impressed with the talent in that position group.
 - Speaking on the USC-Notre Dame legacy, Helton said, "It's the best intersectional rivalry there is in college sports today." He expects the whole nation to be watching and understands the meaning this game holds for the university. Helton believes it's even more important this year with both teams ranked inside the top 25. "It's great for the game, it's great for college football," said Helton. "I'm glad that they're in the position they are in, and we are in the position we are."
 - Helton commented on the "size and explosiveness" of Notre Dame RB Josh Adams. "You just don't bring the guy down with an arm tackle. He just runs right through it," said Helton. Between Josh Adams and Notre Dame's experienced offensive line, Helton complimented Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly for knowing the strengths of the team and leaning on them.
 - Helton's hoping for "that clean, hard-nose attitude" he saw from his players during the second half of the Utah game last weekend. Helton noted Notre Dame is "as good of a team as we've seen all year."
