Four Trojans Set to Compete at U23 World Championships

LOS ANGELES -- Four Trojans will represent the USC women's rowing program at the 2016 U23 World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, this week (Aug. 21-28). Outside of the Olympics, the World Championship regatta is considered the penultimate rowing event of the summer.
Sophomore port Chloe Brew (Plymouth, United Kingdom/Gloucester Hartpury College), sophomore starboard Radka Novotnikova (Brno, Czech Republic/Brno University of Technology), and incoming freshmen Katarzyna Pilch (Krakow, Poland) and Astrid Steensberg (Soroe, Denmark) will each represent their home countries in the regatta.
Brew and Novotnikova will each row out of the Great Britain and Czech Republic eights respectively. Pilch will represent Poland in the four and Steensberg will stroke the double representing Denmark. In addition to the Trojan foursome set to compete in the Netherlands, All-American alumna Anna Wierzbowska and her sister Maria competed in their first Olympic Games as representatives of their native Poland. The sisters advanced to the A/B semifinal and then into the B Final where they finished fourth; 10th place overall.
