Scouts Add a Trojan Badge to Their Sash

The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and the Cub Scouts know a thing or two about serving their communities.
Over the last month, USC student-athletes offered their own service in the form of two multi-sport clinics for Girl Scout troops and Cub Scouts.
In late January, 200 Girl Scouts and their families made their way to Galen Center's practice courts, where Trojan athletes from women's volleyball, soccer and lacrosse taught the young girls the basics of their sports.
Another 200 Cub Scouts had their turn to hone their athletic skills on Feb. 21 with pointers from the men's basketball, football and volleyball teams.
Both clinics culminated with athletes teaching the tenets of USC's SCORE Initiative focusing on the importance of academic integrity, health, teamwork and community responsibility.
As a reward for their diligent work at the clinic, each scout in attendance received a Trojan badge to add to their sashes, signifying the determination and dedication to greatness they learned from their new mentors.
The Girl Scouts then had the chance to stay and watch the Trojan women's basketball team upset California in a 61-47 win and the Cubs stuck around to catch men's basketball take on Utah.
