Sugimto Continues To Pace Trojans At The Goodwin

Senior Eric Sugimoto moved into a tie for 12th and led No. 9 USC up the leader board on the second day of The Goodwin on Friday (March 27) at the Stanford (Calif.) G.C.
The Trojans are now a combined 7-over 587 (290-277) after a 3-under second round. Alabama-Birmingham leads at 19-under 541.
Sugimoto now sits at 4-under 136 (70-36), tied for 12th after his six-birdie round, going 2-under on both nines. His 66 was a season-best round and tied his career best as a Trojan.
Sophomore Rico Hoey moved into a tie for 54th at 3-over 143 (75-68) with a five-birdie day while junior Bobby Gojuangco is tied for 63rd at 4-over 144 (72-72).
Freshman Jonah Texeira, playing individually, is tied for 69th at 5-over 145 (71-75), senior Paul Smith is tied for 82nd at 6-over 146 (73-73) and freshman Sean Crocker is tied for 90th at 7-over 140 (76-71).
