USC Downs Cal Poly, Moves To 2-0

USC vs. Cal Poly Final Results
Sophomores Pawel Furtek and Jon Knox and junior Michael Domagala each won twice to lead the USC men's swimming team to a 152-104 win at Cal Poly on Saturday (Oct. 3).
USC, which improves to 2-0, opened the meet with a win in the 400y medley relay as senior Morten Klarskov, junior Steven Stumph, senior Maclin Davis and Domagala won in 3:21.87.
Furtek won the 500y (4:34.05) and the 1000y free in 9:23.12. Furtek edged senior teammate Ted Singley (4:35.68) in the shorter distance.
Domagala swept the butterfly races. He claimed the 100y fly in 49.20 and edged Singley in the 200y fly, 1:50.91 to 1:51.15. Knox won the 100y (50.74) and 200y back (1:51.66).
Junior Reed Malone, who won twice at UC Santa Barbara on Friday, won the 200y free in 1:39.87 while sophomore teammate Jason O'Brien was second (1:42.81).
Sophomore David Morgan Jr. won the 100y breast (57.35), freshman Kyle Grissom (21.21) and Davis (21.31) went 1-2 in the 50y free and Klarskov won the 100y free (45.48). Sophomore Jonah Hu won the 200y breast in 2:02.24, touching just ahead of Stumph's 2:02.56.
USC closed the meet with a 1:23.40 in the 200y free relay from Morgan Jr., Grissom, Klarskov and Domagala.
