Football's Annual Walk to Africa

Last Saturday the Lighthouse Medical Missions hosted their 6th Annual Walk to Africa in Santa Monica. The day, supported by USC's Football team for the second straight year, raises money for medical excursions throughout impoverished regions abroad.
Before the signature eight mile walk, Trojan tight end Chris Willson lead attendees in stretches and gave a rousing pep talk to the eager crowd. Joined by city officials and medical professionals, the Trojans helped kick off a day of festivities that included the walk, carnival games, charitable raffles, and a barbeque.
With the money raised, Lighthouse Medical Missions will reach 25,000 people in the next two years. During 2014, aid will be sent to Guinea-Bissua, a nation with limited educational and medical resources.
