Kids Take Over the Crowd

On Sunday afternoon, more than 500 local kids from LAUSD's Beyond the Bell Program visited USC's campus to cheer on the men's volleyball and baseball teams. Dedeaux Field and Galen Center brimmed with energy as both teams matched up against tough competition.
Half of the guests attended Kids Take Over the Ballpark Day where they rooted for the Trojans against crosstown rival UCLA. As part of the day, the young fans were provided lunch, transportation, a backpack, and a commemorative t-shirt.
Another group of children were hosted by the men's volleyball team at their game against Stanford. These kids also cheered through a close match, leaving with t-shirts and a day of memories.
The guests were transported from nearby schools as a part of the USC Athletics Community Outreach Program's ongoing SCORE partnership with Beyond the Bell. Servicing more than 600 schools in the Los Angeles area, Beyond the Bell ensures high quality, safe, and supervised enrichment programs for the city's younger generation.
Throughout the spring, USC Athletics will continue to bolster Beyond the Bell's efforts by providing educational experiences on campus with student-athletes.
