Former USC Water Polo Olympian Gabor Nagy Dies

Gabor Nagy, who played water polo at USC and then in the 1956 Olympics for Romania, died on Dec. 4 in Los Angeles of cancer. He was 82.
Nagy was a member of teams that won five consecutive (1952-56) Romanian national championships and he captained the country's national team from 1954 to 1956. He also was a Romanian champion in swimming and ice hockey, and he played basketball.
He then came to America, where he played at USC from 1957 to 1959 and helped the Trojans to league championships each season.
After graduating from USC, he became a motion picture producer and director.
He is survived by his wife, Erika-Mayo, son, Tony, and two granddaughters.
